I never played sports until late in middle school so I was a bit behind many students, I had to learn to work for everything which I can't take credit for as those are courtesies of my parents and those who have helped me to the point where I am now. Being able to compete at varsity levels in different sports as a sophomore in high school definitely helped me realize that I needed to work hard to get better if I want to keep leveling up my performance in the classroom and in competitive play. School always came first when being a student athlete. Regardless of how I performed in sport, strengthening my mind was always and is still always a priority. When it came to college, I was blessed with the opportunity to compete in multiple sports, I am thankful for the people around me that helped me remain focused and have fun while doing it all. When getting close to finishing my undergraduate degree, I had great opportunities to work with some amazing professionals and collegiate athletes. Upon completion of my bachelors, I was blessed to continue my education by earning a masters in biomechanics. From my masters, I then had the opportunity to intern with the San Diego Padres organization within the performance department. I made many great connections with staff and players who are doing great things to this day. Despite the opportunity I had with the Padres organization, I was blessed to receive a position within the San Antonio Spurs Performance Department working with both the G-league team and the NBA team. From there, the connections and relationships that I built with staff and players are ones that I also still continue to this day. Despite my love for the position I was in with the Spurs organization, I decided to further my education and pursue a PhD. Currently, I am taking courses where I hope to apply the knowledge that I learn in the classroom and translate that to improving the performance of athletes at Evolution Athletics. From starting sports later than most individuals, to training with elite level athletes, I am thankful for for all the ups and downs along the way
A turning point in my life was starting athletics. Athletics has taught me many things, but one of things I find special about sports is the ability to have confidence and humility. You can be the best athlete, but what makes the "best" athlete to me is one that can be the best supporting others, competing hard, and challenging themselves and others to be a better version of themselves.
My purpose for coaching is multifaceted. My motivation and purpose is to serve God and do his will day in and day out. I aim to encourage others, lift them up, and make them better in the best way they can understand, not how I want. I know that as a coach , I am not perfect and I will never be. I do however expect the best out of myself when I am coaching to ensure the athletes I have the honor of working with have fun, get better, and build a relationship with me that can last a long time.
